This panel discussion will bring together experienced professionals including parent liaisons, Independent Child Advocates (ICA), ombudspersons, and other roles that partner with schools, students and families navigating the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process.

These professionals help bridge communication gaps, empower parents to be active participants in the IEP process, and support alternative dispute resolution (ADR) efforts that strengthen relationships rather than escalate conflicts. This panel will feature real-world experiences from individuals in these roles, highlighting their impact on the ADR continuum, successes and challenges in fostering collaboration, and the evolution of these positions in school systems. Attendees will gain valuable insights into how these supports contribute to an effective, student-centered IEP process.
