About me
Malinda Furtado is the Parent Liaison Coordinator for Tulare County Office of Education and is responsible for providing bilingual parent training, support, and resources to families of children with exceptional needs from birth through 21 years of age. In addition, she oversees Child Find and facilitates the Community Advisory Committee for the Tulare County SELPA. Malinda has over ten years of combined teaching experience as an Environmental Educator with the Peace Corps in Nicaragua and as a bilingual classroom teacher in Monterey County. Her passion is meeting people where they are and empowering them to find their voice. Malinda is inspired daily by her two amazing daughters, the youngest of whom has Down syndrome and helped change her perspective and passion in life. When she's not advocating on her daughter's behalf, she enjoys reading, hiking, and checking off the next to-do.
