2025 SELPA ADR Conference - Synergy in Action!

A special education student's educational journey is one that is best navigated when there is an intact relationship with the entire parent-educator team. The relationship is often effectuated in close relationships between the SPED team. Often the relationship diverges over small things that cause giant rifts. What if parent-educator SPED team were really able to see the relationship in a different way,  in a way that shows the necessity of interdependence or one of symbiotism or even commensalism as opposed to amensalism, through illustrations involving the animal kingdom. This presentation seeks to provide examples of how collaboration along the ADR Continuum has as an important place in Special Education as it does in nature. Interactive exercises, illustrations and role plays will be utilized in this presentation to effectuate the importance of synergy in ADR amongst Special Education relationships.
